Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing or using Mathlon (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you may use the App only with the permission of a parent or guardian.
Description of Service
Mathlon is a gamified math learning app that helps students prepare for school and university entrance exams. The App offers:
- Exam tracks for the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Turkey
- Discovery lessons, practice questions, hints and worked solutions
- XP, levels, streaks, quests, badges and a coin shop
- Weekly and all-time leagues and leaderboards
- Optional narration in six languages
- Mathlon Pro, an optional paid subscription
User Accounts
Guest Use and Sign-In
You can use the App as a guest or sign in with Google or Apple. When you sign in, your guest progress is kept. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
Usernames
Usernames and display names shown on leaderboards must not be offensive, misleading or infringe anyone's rights. We may change or remove a name that breaks these rules.
Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time in the App (Settings > Account > Delete account). Deleting your account or the App does not cancel a Mathlon Pro subscription. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Coins and Virtual Items
Coins, hearts, streak freezes, boosts and cosmetic items are earned through play or included with Mathlon Pro. Coins and shop items cannot be bought with real money. None of them have real-money value; they cannot be exchanged or transferred, and are a limited license to use within the App. We may adjust them to keep the game balanced.
Mathlon Pro Subscription
What's Included
Mathlon Pro is an optional subscription. It currently includes unlimited hearts, a free streak repair each calendar month, a higher streak-freeze limit, "My mistakes" practice, a free 50/50 hint, a rainbow mane for Max and a PRO badge on leaderboards and your profile. All lessons and questions remain available without a subscription. We may change, add or remove Pro features over time.
Plans and Payment
Mathlon Pro is offered as weekly, monthly and yearly plans. The price and billing period are shown in the App before you buy, in your local currency. Payment is charged to your Apple Account (or Google Play account, where offered) when you confirm the purchase.
Automatic Renewal
Your subscription renews automatically at the same price for the same period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
Free Trials
If a free trial is offered, its length and the price that follows are shown before you start. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the paid subscription starts automatically. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
Managing and Cancelling
You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings, or from Settings > Mathlon Pro in the App. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Pro until then. Use "Restore purchases" to get Pro back on a new device.
Refunds and Price Changes
Payments are processed by Apple or Google, and refund requests are handled by them under their own refund policies. If the price of your plan changes, you will be notified as required by the app store and can cancel before the new price applies.
App Store Terms
If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies. If these Terms conflict with it, Apple's agreement prevails to the extent required.
User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the App or servers
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Use cheats, bots, exploits or unauthorized modifications to gain XP or league positions
Leagues and Fair Play
League and leaderboard positions are based on XP earned in the App. We may remove entries or reset progress that results from cheating or exploiting bugs.
Intellectual Property
Our Content
The App, including its lessons, questions, solutions, illustrations, the Max character, audio and design, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works without our permission.
Exam Names
Exam names such as SAT, AP, SSAT, ISEE, GCSE, A-Level, Abitur, Brevet, Baccalauréat, Maturità, PAU/EBAU, LGS and YKS belong to their respective owners. Mathlon is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by any exam board or education authority.
Disclaimers
"As Is" Basis
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
Educational Purpose
The App supports learning but does not replace school instruction or official exam materials. Syllabus coverage may differ from your exam, and we do not guarantee any exam result or academic outcome. Always check official sources for exam requirements.
Service Availability
We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the App. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any feature at any time.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify users of significant changes through the App.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.
