Introduction

Letoria ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Letoria mobile app (the "App"), how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Guest Use

You can play without creating an account. When you first open the App, we create an anonymous user identifier so your progress can be saved. The App suggests a random display name, which you can change.

Account Information

If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive from that provider:

  • A user identifier
  • Display name
  • Email address
  • Profile photo URL (if available)

Your email address is kept by Firebase Authentication to manage your sign-in. It is not stored in your game profile and is not shown to other players. When a guest signs in, the guest's progress and gems are moved to the signed-in account.

Profile and Gameplay Data

  • Display name, profile photo or emoji avatar, and the languages you play in
  • Scores, words found, longest words and results of live rounds
  • Daily, weekly and monthly ranking positions
  • Level and crossword progress, XP, achievements, daily streak and streak freezes
  • Gem balance, and the gems you earn and spend
  • Reactions and salutes you send to other players

Purchase Information

The App offers optional in-app purchases: gem packs and the Letoria Pro subscription. Payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive your payment card or billing details. For each purchase, we and our purchase provider RevenueCat receive:

  • The product you bought, its price and currency, and the store
  • A store transaction identifier and the purchase date
  • Subscription status, renewal and expiry dates
  • Refunds and cancellations reported by the store

Purchases are linked to your anonymous Firebase user identifier, never to your name or email address.

Usage Analytics and Diagnostics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used. It records screens viewed, the App version and events such as signing in, finishing a round or level, opening the gem shop, the result of a purchase, and earning or spending gems, together with device information such as device model, operating system and approximate region. If the App crashes, Firebase Crashlytics sends a crash report with technical details and your user identifier.

  • Device type, operating system and App version
  • Identifiers used by Firebase for authentication, analytics and app integrity checks
  • Network connection status

What Other Players Can See

Your display name, profile photo or emoji avatar, level, scores, ranking positions, round results and the reactions you send are visible to other players. Your email address is never shown. If you do not want your real name or photo to appear, change your display name and choose an emoji avatar.

How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account or guest session
  • To save your progress and sync it across your devices
  • To run live rounds, rankings and leaderboards
  • To deliver the gems and Letoria Pro features you buy, verify purchases, prevent fraud and duplicate credits, and handle refunds
  • To send the reminders you allow (scheduled on your device)
  • To show update prompts when a new version is required
  • To fix crashes, understand usage and improve the App

We do not sell your personal information, we do not show ads, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Data Storage and Security

  • Firebase Cloud Firestore and Realtime Database: cloud storage hosted by Google
  • Local device storage: settings and cached progress so the App can work offline

Gems are credited by our servers only after the store and RevenueCat confirm the payment. We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or of electronic storage is 100% secure.

Third-Party Services

  • Firebase (Google): authentication, Cloud Firestore, Realtime Database, Cloud Functions, Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config and App Check. App Check uses Play Integrity (Android) or App Attest and DeviceCheck (Apple) to confirm requests come from the genuine App. Google Privacy Policy

  • RevenueCat: processes in-app purchase and subscription records. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
  • Apple App Store and Google Play: process payments under their own terms and privacy policies.
  • Game Center and Google Play Games: if you use them, your scores and achievements are shared with Apple or Google under their privacy policies.
  • Google Fonts: the App downloads some fonts from Google's servers, which receive standard request data such as your IP address.

Permissions

Notifications: used for optional reminders, such as protecting your streak. Reminders are scheduled on your device. You can turn them off in the App or in your device settings.

Internet access: used to sign in, sync progress, play live rounds, load rankings and make purchases.

The App does not request access to your camera, microphone, location or contacts.

Data Retention

  • Account and progress: kept while your account is in use and deleted when you delete your account.
  • Rounds and rankings: round scores are removed after 30 days, daily rankings after 35 days, weekly rankings after 70 days and monthly rankings after 13 months.
  • Inactive guests: if a guest session is inactive for 30 days and has no progress (no chosen name or avatar, no score, streak, subscription or extra gems), its data is deleted.
  • Purchase records: kept after account deletion, linked only to the former anonymous user identifier, to prevent duplicate credits and fraud, to handle refunds and to meet accounting and legal obligations. RevenueCat keeps its own records under its privacy policy.

Your Rights and Choices

Delete your account: in the App, go to Settings > Delete Account. This permanently deletes your profile, scores, rankings, progress, achievements, streak and gem balance. You can also request deletion by email. Deleting your account does not cancel a Letoria Pro subscription; cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

Change what others see: you can change your display name and avatar in the App.

Access and correction: depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or Turkey's KVKK), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data and to object to its processing. Email us to make a request.

Children's Privacy

The App is suitable for players of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) without parental consent. Children should play as a guest and make purchases only with a parent's or guardian's permission; parents can control purchases with the parental controls of the App Store or Google Play. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, by our service providers. Where required, these transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last Updated" date.
