Voice Effect ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application Voice Effect (the "App") handles information when you use it.
Voice Effect is built around a simple principle: your voice never leaves your phone. All audio processing happens on-device.
We want to be clear about what we do not do:
The App accesses your device's microphone in real time to apply voice effects (Robot, Alien, Chipmunk, Helium, Monster, Ghost, Underwater and more). The audio stream is processed locally and played back through your device's speaker or headphones. It is never recorded, uploaded, or stored unless you explicitly choose to save a recording.
When you tap Record, the App writes the audio (with the selected effect baked in) to your device's local storage. You control these files: you can play them, share them to other apps such as TikTok, Reels, or messaging apps, or delete them at any time.
The App stores your local preferences on the device, including:

Required for core functionality. The App needs microphone access to capture your voice and apply real-time effects. The microphone is only active while the App is in use and a voice effect is engaged.
Used only when you save or share clips. The App needs permission to write recordings to your device and to share them with other apps you choose.
The App does not request the following permissions:
When you share a clip from Voice Effect to another app (such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, or a messaging app), the receiving app handles the file according to its own privacy policy. We have no control over how that third-party app stores or transmits the file once you share it.
The App is designed for general audiences. Because we do not collect personal information from any user, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and have questions, please contact us.
Because we do not collect personal data on our servers, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our side. Recordings and preferences live on your device. You can delete them at any time by removing files within the App or by uninstalling the App, which removes all local data.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was last revised. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
